About Us

We are Lost at Home, a 4-piece band from the West Midlands and we write and perform compelling combinations of rich pop layers among mixed styles of funky rhythm and rock.

Formed back in July 2013, we released our debut EP, Blaze the Sky, at the end of that year which, when reviewed by Record Overplayed, received comments such as; "It’s the sign of a good song when, having heard it only twice, you can then sing along to the chorus on the third play. It’s the sign of an even better song when you wake several days later to find it still lodged firmly in your brain. Up and coming quartet Lost at Home have managed to produce an EP brimming with such delights – a musical masterclass in how to write infectious pop-rock gems with killer choruses".

We released our second EP, Lights Down, in August 2015 which, along with tracks from the first EP, got the attention of local BBC Radio. We have had several tracks of the week, including a national BBC radio show and a local BBC radio lunchtime show. One of our biggest highlights was being asked by BBC Radio in August 2014 to headline their BBC Introducing Stage at the Lakefest music festival in Tewkesbury.

At the start of 2015 we recorded our third EP, with our first single, which was the title track of the EP, Let's Go.

At the back-end of 2015 we recorded two new tracks for single releases and a video for the first of these two singles, Through the Glass.

November 2016 saw the release our 8-track EP titled LAH, which included a couple of our early tracks that we had remastered.

What People Are Saying:

RECORD OVERPLAYED: "It’s the sign of a good song when, having heard it only twice, you can then sing along to the chorus on the third play. It’s the sign of an even better song when you wake several days later to find it still lodged firmly in your brain.  Up and coming Birmingham quartet Lost at Home have managed to produce an EP brimming with such delights – a musical masterclass in how to write infectious pop-rock gems with killer choruses.

The Midlands lads have been causing something of a stir on their local gig circuit and, having witnessed them opening for My Life Story at the O2 Academy towards the end of 2013, it’s little wonder. The Blaze the Sky EP is a concise introduction to a four piece who exude the same energy and enthusiasm on record as they do onstage, and whose lush, layered, upbeat songs are just crying out for radio airplay.

The band clearly have an eclectic mix of influences, making it almost impossible to match their sound to anyone else. To get a vague idea you’d need to throw The Kooks, The Sunshine Underground, McFly and John Mayer into the ring - although perhaps a closer comparison would be the much-missed Dum Dums, who straddled the line between Melody Maker indie-rock and prime time pop TV shows like CD:UK. Lost at Home even have a song named Sex Drive written on a similar subject to Dum Dums’ album track Hole in Your Heart, and it’s just as catchy.

To confuse things a little further, the wonderful Purple Soul is in parts reminiscent of pop prince Mika’s most radio-friendly hits while fourth track Free
has a piano refrain that Gary Barlow would be proud of. Overall the EP is an intoxicating mix of fizzing guitars, foot-tapping basslines, soaring vocals and anthemic choruses. But don’t take our word for it – go and listen to them. Be warned though: Once you’ve heard them you’ll be singing the choruses for the rest of the day - if not the rest of the week."

JASMINE STORM: "Lost at Home are a four-piece band from the West Midlands who are a stunning piece with great songs and a style that mixes funk pop/rock together.  My first thoughts on hearing them are ‘wow – why aren’t they famous?’.  Yes, they are that good!  But the music world is not based on how talented someone is – it’s about clever marketing and who you know.  Well I am going to wax lyrical about how great these guys are as they are absolutely fabulous.  If I had a crystal ball I would say big things are in store for this band.  Check them out!

Musical Theatre analogy: On The Town.  I chose this musical as I wanted something that demonstrated how great they work together.  Something about friendship. On the Town is a musical about three friends who are looking for adventure. I hope Lost at Home find their adventure!"
